Mike was born Washington State but traveled extensively through the US with his footloose mother in her motorhome. Mike began his editing career in the US Army where he worked as a nuclear, chemical, and biological specialist, writing training manuals and editing those written by others. Once he left the military, Mike went to work as an editor for an instruction manual publisher. From editing technical writing, Mike moved gradually into fiction editing by first freelancing for a number of publishing companies. Today, Mike has narrowed the list of companies he edits for down to five, including Black Opal Books. When he isn’t working, Mike enjoys hiking, camping, playing with his three-year-old black lab, and working on his classic cars.
