John W. Daniel grew up in North Carolina and sets most of his fiction there. He has a BA from North Carolina State University and an MA from Wake Forest University. He has taught English at Fishburne Military School in Waynesboro, Virginia (where he also coached the baseball team); the College of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City, North Carolina; and the State University of New York Agricultural and Technical College at Alfred, New York. He also has worked as a contract specialist and an industrial specialist at the US Army Tank, Automotive, and Armaments Command (TACOM) in Warren, Michigan. Now retired, at least from gainful employment, he lives with his wife Sharon and their cat Fonzie in the hills north of Elmira, New York. He especially enjoys O-scale model railroading; reading; gardening; and, on days when the course isn’t getting the better of him, golfing.
